Improving my own professional social media footprint

Along with this blog, I have begun to expand my digital presence in the social media space in terms of my apprentice image.

I have a real passion in digital marketing and find stats so interesting that having more platforms to talk about it on is a blessing!

So where can you follow me?

The first ‘work’ profile I made was a LinkedIn profile as it is a respectable business social network to be on. Google also respects LinkedIn which is why when you Google a name it more often than not comes up with a LinkedIn profile.
Having a LinkedIn profile allows me to build up my professional network with all the people I meet at networking events, workshops or current clients.

My second ‘work’ profile I created was a Twitter account (you can follow me @alison_gbmc). The twitter profile was made due to my college tutor being very active on there with posting relevant content for his students about digital marketing and any points of interest around the topic. Using a personal hashtag, it allows us all to create almost a big group chat where content gets shared, advice gets given and opinions are heard.
Of course I already had a personal Twitter profile, but I wanted a place for ll my work things to be posted in an effort to keep the two separate.

Pinterest was the next account I created for ‘work’ which, again, I already had a personal account but now I realised the value of Pinterest from a digital marketing apprentice point of view. It is a great place to get infographics and other visual forms of statistics and information concerning digital marketing that it seems stupid to not have a college account - even if I’ve never posted on it in my life!

The most recent addition to the professional social media collection is Instagram - which I never thought I’d say.
I’ve had multiple accounts in the past with Instagram that one more surely wouldn’t hurt, the only annoying thing is trying to find an email you haven’t signed up with before!
My intention with Instagram is to use it as an almost ‘micro blog’, so I’ll post little snippets of information on there more regularly than this blog. So if you want even more amazing content from me you can follow me on there @alison_digitalmarketing.

The content will be slightly different from this content, although following the same suit as it will be more frequent and informative snippets. Focused mainly around statistics relating to digital marketing and my opinions on them. But, as it’s so new, I don’t want to say too much for now.
